These things are great, but they will not simply draw in the numbers of traffic you're looking for.

No matter what experts will tell you or what services are available, the only way to drive traffic to your site is through targeted marketing. The key you're looking for is traffic that proves to be productive. For example, by offering a giveaway of some sort you can bring in hundreds of thousands of visitors to your site each year. The services that search the Internet for free stuff are a wonderful way to get people clicking a link to your site. However, these people don't have the slightest interest in buying anything from you. People that are searching for freebies will seldom make you any money. This type of traffic will not be found productive in any way.

Here are three tips to help you target your marketing to those who are truly interested in buying from you:

However, if you are able to come up with some unique, but common, phrases that people use, they will allow you to post your ad next to the text that the search engine generates when people search for that phrase. In return, you would pay Google a nominal fee for each time someone clicks on your ad to find your website.

2. Try submitting articles to article directories or ezine sites. These are free and quite valuable if you are a service provider. You have the option of writing articles or hiring someone to do so. The topics will be related to your area of expertise. Offer some free tips or your experience. At the end of the article, your information will be included in a bio box. Your name and a link to your website will go here to advertise your services. Then, each time someone wants to publish your article in the ezine or newsletter, they must include your link at the bottom.

3. Hire an expert copywriter. Your ad copy makes a significant amount of difference when it comes to the sales that come from the Internet. The key to targeted marketing is the keywords found in your title and the metatags in the website's code. One who's experienced in copywriting will be familiar with how to determine the most effective keywords to use. Such words can be placed in strategic areas of your website's copy. However, if hiring one is out of your price range, consider doing some research. Then talk about inserting metatags to your web designer. These are just a few of the options out there. Remember, it's the productive traffic that will prove to be profitable.
